Happy Birthday To Me!
June Studio Update
Hey y’all, today’s my birthday and I’m sick again 🤧 (womp-womp), so my festivities have been postponed. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to celebrate...
Two very exciting things are happening this month: The release of my band’s second album and my first two-person show with my dad.
My band League of Space Pirates has been working diligently since last summer to put together Detritus: a ten song album of 25th century rock and rebellion. It features a much more analog sound than anything we’ve done before and is filled with songs about technology and humanity that seem more relevant than ever. I’m super happy with how it came out and I can’t wait for you to hear it!
Detritus officially arrives on June 16th and will be available exclusively on Bandcamp. You can pre-order it now HERE.
And if you’re in the Richmond area you’re invited to celebrate the release with us at Shockoe Sessions Live. Limited tickets are available now HERE.
No worries, if you can’t attend, you can also stream the show live for free on YouTube HERE!
The first single Idiocracy is out now and you can listen to it on Bandcamp or watch the video on YouTube...
Father/Son opens June 12th! I was so grateful when the folks at Petersburg Area Art League suggested that I have an exhibition with my father. We’ve had family art shows before, but never one with just the two of us. We both work with uncommon materials, creating collage and assemblage pieces, so I’m excited to see how our work will look together. The show was originally scheduled to be up for one month, but has now been extended to two months!
If you’re in the area please come celebrate with us at the opening reception on June 12thh from 5-8pm. And stay tuned for a possible second event in July!

Skull Appreciation Day is June 4th! 19 years ago on that date I started my original Skull-A-Day project, which was a truly life changing experience and continues to bring me amazing opportunities all these years later. If you want to celebrate, do something nice for your own skull on that day.
Thanks for reading. I’m so grateful you’re here!
